Adilyn,
Sixteen months is such a fun and exciting time. You are learning so much about this world around you. How things work, how to get what you want, colors, numbers, letters, and songs. Of course, you don't know the full impact of these things on your environment just yet, but you are learning.

You are learning how to express yourself. What you want and need along with what you don't want or like. You have recently started stomping your feet, arching your back, crying, yelling "no" or using any combination of these to show us you are not pleased with the situation. You communicate just well enough to want to be able to dictate what you get and when you get it. But not well enough to understand that you don't always get what you want exactly when you want it. I am trying to teach you about choices. Although, this is a difficult concept to grasp right now. Sometimes you do really well if I give you two choices (you can sit here or here). And other times the concept is too abstract (follow Mommy or ride in the basket).

More often than not, you are so so happy and fun to be with. You love to sing and dance. Some of your favorite songs right now are: If You're Happy and You Know It, Jesus Loves Me, Itsy Bitsy Spider, I Love You, ABC Song, Brushing My Teeth song, Clean Up, Mr. Sun, and Wise Man. You sing and dance to any song that is playing, especially Barney.

Physically, you are climbing and running so much more. And your balance and coordination seem to get better all the time. You love to climb up and slide down your slide. Just the other day, I turned around to find you sitting on top of the coffee table. You got in trouble and haven't tried it since. One of your new favorite games is to spin around in circles while saying (something close to) "round and round" until you get too dizzy and fall down.
You are such and amazing and wonderful gift from God. We are so proud to be your parents.
Love,
Momma
