Rain, rain...

All of the tropical storms and hurricanes brewing in the oceans and causing such devastating damage to those living on the coasts have been all over the news. But those storms have also impacted us here in Lubbock. We have received almost 8 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. This flat city and its drainage system could not keep up with all that water. Streets, homes, lakes, and so much more are flooded. School was canceled today along with many other organizations. A friend told me she saw a man in a boat floating down a major street here in town. But not to worry, the Tech vs. SMU game is still on schedule for tomorrow even though the stadium had over a foot of water inside! You know how we feel about football down here in Texas!
